ChatGPT Doesn't Know It Cannot Follow Directions

A while back, I poked at ChatGPT 3.5, asking it:
Paint me a picture of a cat with a trumpet in the style of Salvador Dali.
It did not go well.
It generated some nice images, but it helpfully hallucinated capabilities it did not actually posess.
